Open Streets at Penn Fest!

Thanks for a fun day of building community among neighbors and friends!

Post your comments and photos about Open Streets at Penn Fest on our Facebook page.

Thanks to the community for an outpouring of support for Open Streets at Penn Fest 2012! Everything came together beautifully. It was a perfect late summer/early fall day under a beautiful blue sky! But more importantly, it was a day with the avenue filled with smiles, laughter and fun! It was a day for neighbors and friends to join together and enjoy music, dance, athletics, crafts, arts and more in the neighborhood. It was a day to celebrate being part of the Richfield community. We have a lot of thanks to extend to many people for making this happen. We will be doing this in the coming days.  In the meantime, here are a few photos for you to enjoy:

Just how many people attended Open Streets at Penn Fest?

Because it wasn't a ticketed event, there is no way to know for sure how many people attended. But public safety officers and city officials are pretty good at "guestimating." Thoughts are that the event pulled in around 7,000 people. That's a great success that shows strong community spirit in Richfield. Once again, thanks to everyone who made Open Streets at Penn Fest possible!

Thanks to our Premier Open Streets Sponsor

The Penn Central of Richfield committee would like to thank Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota for awarding an Open Streets grant to our community. This grant has made it possible to host a bigger and better celebration that encourages active lifestyles and being engaged in the community. Thanks again!
